RŌL Progress is a training journal and rank-progress tracker for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu students, instructors, and academies. It's used by RŌL Academy and by other academies and students who use the app for their own training.
Your information is private, enforced by access controls at the database level, not just by what the app's screens show. No other student, no other academy, and no outside company or advertiser can see it — it is never sold or shared beyond your own academy. Within your academy, your own instructors and admin can see your training data to support your coaching.
This policy covers the RŌL Progress web app only. It does not cover other, separate RŌL Academy products (like RŌL Academy TV or the RŌL Radio podcast), which may have their own privacy practices.
When you create an account, we collect the information you provide directly:
As you use the app, we collect what you choose to log:
We also automatically collect some technical information to keep the app working: when you log in, your general app usage (like which tabs you visit), and basic error logs if something goes wrong (see Security below).
RŌL Progress includes optional features for logging information that relates to your physical and mental wellbeing:
All of these are optional. You are never required to log health-related information to use the app's core training-log features. This information is visible to you and to your academy's instructors and admin (who use it to support your training and check in on how you're doing) — it is never sold, and we do not share it with any outside party for advertising or any other purpose.
RŌL Progress is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Nothing in the app is a substitute for consulting a doctor or other qualified health professional.
We use the information you provide to:
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
RŌL Progress stores your data using Supabase, a database and backend hosting provider. Supabase stores and secures the underlying data on our behalf. We also rely on standard web infrastructure providers to host and deliver the app itself.
These providers are data processors — they store data on our behalf and don't use it for their own purposes.
For student accounts belonging to minors, a parent or guardian should review this policy and be aware of what the account can log, including the optional health-related features described above. If you have questions about a minor's account, or would like to review, correct, or delete a minor's information, please contact your academy directly (see Contact).
We keep your account and training data for as long as your account is active. If your account is inactive for an extended period, your academy may archive or remove it — you'll see a note about this when you create your account.
If your account is deleted by your academy's admin, your profile and login are removed. Some records tied to your training history may be retained by the academy as part of their normal business records, separate from your account access.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls that limit who can see student data. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users.
The app keeps an internal error log to help us find and fix bugs. This log may include technical details about what happened (like an error message) but is used for troubleshooting, not for tracking your activity.
We may update this policy from time to time as the app changes. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Questions about this policy, or requests about your data, should be directed to your academy's instructor or admin — they manage your account and can help with data questions specific to your academy.
